Traditional Chinese Medicine is a tradition that has continuously adapted over time by incorporating new elements and discarding outdated practices. Over the centuries, TCM doctors have initiated developments that have made TCM increasingly practical and widely applicable.

One of these doctors was Dr Zhenguang Guo (1943–2024), an oncologist and fifth-generation TCM doctor who emigrated to America in the 1970s after a short career in China. Through his experiences there, he observed that the health status of his American patients was determined by different socio-cultural factors. The TCM disease patterns he saw there differed greatly from those in China and therefore required a different approach. He therefore adapted some of his formulas to meet the needs of his new patients. On the one hand, he worked with traditional formulas that he believed had effectively stood the test of time (and context), and on the other hand, he developed his own series of “modern” formulas. During one of his seminar tours in Europe, a collaboration was established that ultimately led to the creation of EITCAM.

Today, 15 years after Dr. Guo's last seminar, we are breathing new life into EITCAM. We are proud to continue Dr. Guo's work by further developing and updating his vision and expertise with scientific research and practical experience. It is in his footsteps that we continue to review formulas, as well as create new formulas and new methods.
